Darlington Pollinator Gardens
Needs
Back in 2019 these pollinator gardens were ready to serve the community and needed native species plants installed and kept safe from invasive species plants.
Solution
We planted native plants a local school had grown in their greenhouse over a period of time. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions the school could not come and plant them. We started planting and performing regular maintenance for this garden back in 2019. The regular weekly maintenance was to keep a constant eye on the possible invasive species plants that could harm the native species plants.
Outcome
Along with the bees and butterflies that regular these gardens, so do many students and staff. It is often used as a space for employees of the facility to walk around and explore the outdoors, a much-needed breath of fresh air for anyone.
